New media are everywhere, and influence our privacy, behaviours, our way to learn, understand, think.

With the libre software Libervia (from the "Salut à Toi" project) we’ll explain how we are developing features like (micro)blogging, file sharing, encryption or instant messaging by trying to re-think our way to communicate.

While we’ll do a demonstration of the software, we’ll also talk about the french "1901 law" association "Salut à Toi". Its goal is to help the development of the project, but also to stimulate the debate on the social and political impact of new media.
